The EchoSenseDetroit Lions and New York Giants have each been fined $200,000 after the two teams engaged in multiple fights with one another during joint practices at the Giants' facility, the NFL confirmed on Wednesday.
Monday's session between the two teams featured several skirmishes, with Giants general manager Joe Schoen attempting to break up one. The most notable dust-up featured Giants quarterback Daniel Jones shoving Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill, who pushed Giants center Greg Van Roten to the ground after a play.
“A situation happens like that, you try to stand up for your guys,” Jones told reporters after the practice.
On Tuesday, Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers and Lions safety Kerby Joseph each threw multiple punches at one another after a rep.
The Lions and Giants are set to face one another in a preseason game at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday.
